 About Our Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry LogoThe mission of the Office of Campus Ministry is to support Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School’s commitment to the development of the whole person – body, mind and spirit. All of our activities and programs are aimed at fostering the potential of our students within the context of the Christian community. Rooted in the Faith and the living of Gospel values, we seek to provide students, faculty and parents with opportunities to grow in self-knowledge and to deepen relationships with others and God.

While we are committed to being actively engaged in a dialogue of respect with other religious traditions and faith expressions, Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School serves as a beacon of Catholic identity and is fully committed to implementing the three goals of ministry with adolescents as set forth in the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ document, Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry (1997):

  • Goal 1: To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
  • Goal 2: To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.
  • Goal 3: To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

The “Borromean Rings”

borromeanringsA symbol from our patron saint’s Italian family crest, the “Borromean rings” consists of three interlocking rings so arranged that if one ring were to be removed, the entire construction falls apart. Yet, even while no two rings are connected in this arrangement, the three are completely inseparable. Associated with the Trinity, the rings also serve as an incredibly perfect model of the balanced and complete human person –  BODY-MIND-SPIRIT -interrelated and united in the purpose of using our entire being to bring forth God’s Kingdom.
