Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School Crest

Welcome and thank you for considering Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School for your child’s education. We are excited to welcome you to the Hurricane family. Our Admissions process is designed to acquaint students and parents with our school’s mission, philosophy, technology, and expectations. In turn, we hope to learn more about you and how we may be able to best serve your academic interests, talents, hobbies, and aspirations.

Bishop McLaughlin offers a distinctive educational environment, with a balance of wireless technology and traditional Catholic-based education. Our admissions department seeks bright students of good character, who are eager to immerse themselves in all aspects of high school life. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School provides an environment where each student’s uniqueness is valued. We have a thriving International student population and offer the only secondary education program in the Diocese of St. Petersburg for students with special needs.  We look forward to getting to know you and your family and answering any questions you might have.

How to Apply

For Domestic/Local Students, applying is easy using our Online Application. We encourage families to apply online as it simplifies submission and provides parents a tool for tracking online the status of their admission after their application has been submitted. A non-refundable fee of $75 must be submitted with each application.

For International Students, please download the application and instructions from the “International Student Application” below.

High School Placement Test: Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School requires incoming freshman to take the High School Placement Test. Transfer students are not required to take the HSPT.  For dates and registration, please visit our High School Placement Registration Page.

How to create an Online Application

To begin the Online Application process, Create an Account. Then log in to your account and Create A New Student Application for your child. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application.

After submitting the application, you will be able to track online your admissions status at the school by logging in to your account. There you will be able to print the completed applications, monitor when the school receives supplemental application forms and, if necessary, reprint the supplemental forms.

Placement Agency Requirement

All International Students must enlist a placement agency for enrollment.  Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School’s preferred placement agency for International Students is The Cambridge Institute of International Education.  For more information, click the image below.

Interested in learning more about our school before you apply?

We invite you to fill out an Inquiry Form. Here you will provide information about your student and also choose a day for them to Shadow our school. During their Shadow Day, students will be paired with a current student who will show them what it means to be a Bishop Hurricane.
