In lieu of an on campus tour, we do have a virtual tour that will give you a nice glimpse of life at Bishop. With our one-to-one technology program teachers and students were able to seamlessly continue learning during the Safer-at-Home quarantine period. Prospective families are also welcome to come visit our campus at any time and tour our grounds, walk on “The Beach” or fields. We’re on almost 100 acres in beautiful central Pasco.
We are also able to offer virtual shadow day, if a prospective student would like, they are welcome to join a few of the live online classes offered by our teachers. Please let us know so we can arrange with instructors to get the meeting ID and password.

The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is an admission test given to eighth graders who are seeking entrance into Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School. The BMCHS Admissions Review Board makes decisions, places applicants, and determines scholarship awards based on the exam results.
Students who apply to BMCHS by October 31, 2022, are automatically signed up for the first High School Placement Test (HSPT) — which will be held at BMCHS on November 5, 2022 — and will receive the test for free! If application is made after October 31, 2022, the fee for the HSPT is $50 by debit or credit on the day of the test.
In addition, this is the only test that qualifies for the Bishop McLaughlin Test Topper Scholarship — a $1,000 annual scholarship toward tuition at Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School, awarded to the top score on this date.
Student must maintain a 3.5 GPA and remain in good disciplinary standing throughout all four years at Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School. Applicants for the Test Topper Scholarship MUST take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) at Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School, on the FIRST DATE the TEST is OFFERED in November of each year, in order to be eligible.
The make up date for the High School Placement Test is January 28, 2022. Cost of this test is $50 by debit or credit on the day of the test.
High School Placement Test (For incoming 9th graders only). The High School Placement Test is mandatory for incoming 9th graders acceptance. The next High School Placement Test will be given on November 5, 2022 and January 28, 2023.

Students must be signed in and out by a parent or responsible adult.
During the test phones must be turned off and placed in the phone caddy inside each classroom. Proctors will offer breaks between sections.
Tips for helping your child feel more comfortable on the day:
• Make sure your child gets a restful night’s sleep.
• Make sure your child has a healthy breakfast in the morning.
Payments will be accepted at check-in (credit or debit card only). Please note the fee MUST be paid prior to taking the test. The $75 HSPT fee is waived for completed Student Application before test date.

The Course Placement Test is required for students requesting a higher-lever Math and/or Spanish class. These tests are only offered once. If a student cannot make the test date, their placement will be determined by the Director of Guidance. Once the date is determined, registration will open.

High School Placement Test (HSPT) at BMCHS. The HSPT is needed to begin the admissions decision-making process and is used for placement purposes.
This is the last day BMCHS will accept principal and teacher recommendation forms, records from schools, HSPT scores, standardized tests scores, and all other supporting documentation required for applicants to be included in our First Consideration for Admissions for the 2023 — 2024 school year.
Decision letters will be emailed to students who met the application and documentation deadlines for our First Consideration for Admissions.
Students accepted during the First Consideration for Admissions must submit the online enrollment packet by this date in order to secure their seat for the 2023 — 2024 school year.
Beginning November 1, 2022, all families can submit applications for the 2023 — 2024 school year. These applications will be considered on a rolling basis and may be placed on a wait list due to limited space in the cohort.

Tuition assistance is available for families who apply through FACTS. Financial aid eligibility is based on a family’s demonstrated need. Your demonstrated need is the difference between the cost of attendance and the expected family contribution, as determined by FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment (FACTS account required). BMCHS is committed to meeting your demonstrated need with different forms of financial aid funds.
Note: An active FACTS account is required for all families.
Each family with a student enrolled at Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School is required to volunteer ten (10) service hours annually. If parent volunteer hours are not performed or only partially performed, the fee is pro-rated at $20 per unserved hour.
At Bishop McLaughlin, we continually work for ways to concentrate our available resources on our primary mission of a quality Catholic education. To help us meet this goal, the Diocese of St. Petersburg uses FACTS Management Company to handle tuition payments for all families. All students must have a tuition contract via FACTS, please visit this LINK to sign up. Please be advised that Food Service Accounts are linked through FACTS. You must have an active FACTS account for your child to access cafeteria service purchases.

The Catholic School Tuition Aid Grant (CSTAG) award is the only grant given by the Diocese to aid families with school tuition costs. CSTAG is available to all Catholic students K-12 who are registered at, or have submitted an enrollment application to an (inter)parish or diocesan Catholic elementary or high school in the Diocese of St. Petersburg. Families must have FACTS Calculated Need to be eligible for tuition assistance. There is a small application fee for CSTAG.
Parents are required to fill out a FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment for each new school year. The FACTS Grant and Aid application opens in November, for the following school year. ALL documents must be uploaded to FACTS no later than April 15, to be included in the initial consideration. An application is considered complete when FACTS Grant and Aid has received the application and all supporting documentation required for evaluation.
Please Note: Generally, the supporting documentation required for uploading is your previous year W-2 and your previous year tax return. If you are self-employed other documents may be required from FACTS.

Florida provides a variety of school choice options, including three scholarship programs that are accepted at Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School. These include the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options (FES-EO), the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA), and the Florida Tax Scholarship (FTC).

These scholarships provide financial assistance for private school tuition. An example of who may qualify is a family of four with an income up to $111,000 annually. The scholarship award is based on where the student lives and their grade level.

The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA)
Personalize the education of your child with unique abilities. This scholarship is delivered as an education savings account (ESA) that you can direct toward a combination of programs and approved providers. This includes tuition, therapists, specialists, curriculum, technology, a college savings account, and more.

In 1998, the Mary C. Forbes Foundation was established. Thousands of children have been assisted in attending our Catholic Schools in the Diocese of St. Petersburg. The Mary C. Forbes Foundation is an independent, private organization established to provide financial assistance, based on need or hardship, to Catholic students currently enrolled in Catholic schools within the Diocese of St. Petersburg. The application for the Mary C. Forbes Foundation Scholarship can be found online at Mary C. Forbes Foundation. Parents may fill out and submit the application online. The deadline to apply for the following school year is April 30.
Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School manages a few internal and privately-funded scholarships. These include the Test Topper Scholarship, the Hurricane Scholarship, the Alessandra Augello Memorial Endowed Scholarship, the John M. This scholarship was established to create a lasting legacy in loving memory of BMCHS student Alessandra Augello. This partial scholarship is awarded annually to a student in his/her sophomore, junior, or senior year with demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students involved in the performing or visual arts or journalism programs at Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA.

The Knights of Columbus, Council 13525, believes deeply in the value of a Catholic education and strives to support parents who are investing in their children’s future by sending them to Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School. They are pleased to announce the establishment of the John M. Parcelewicz Memorial Scholarship to assist families with some of the expenses associated with attending Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School. John M. Parcelewicz was a valued member of Council 13525, a 4th Degree Knight, a retired Air Force Colonel and an active volunteer at the James A. Haley VA Hospital and at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. His brother Knights would like to honor him by offering TWO $1,000 scholarships for a Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School student in his name.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Hernando/Citrus District is happy to offer a $1000 scholarship to a Catholic student wishing to attend Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School for the upcoming school year.
