BUS ROUTES

School Bus Transportation 2023-2024 Academic Year

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic School will be providing bus transportation serving the routes below. This service is offered as a convenience for our parents and students and attempts to serve a large geographic area.

Based on a regular day schedule. Times will vary for days with special schedules.

The above locations and times are approximate and subject to change based on schedule and need.
Fees for Bus Transportation

***Prices subject to change due to increase in gas charges.***

Transportation fees are billed per semester. Bus Transportation options and their associated costs are:

  • Round Trip:  $1,375 per semester ($275 per month, if paid monthly)
  • One-Way (AM) or One-Way (PM): $900 per semester ($180 per month, if paid monthly)

As a cost savings to parents, we continue to offer a reduction in the fare if the semester is paid in advance. If paid at the beginning of each semester, the amount of the round-trip fare is $1,275.00 for the entire five-month semester; a yearly saving of $200.00 when compared to monthly payments. The amount of a one-way fare when paid at the beginning of each semester is $800.00; a yearly savings of $200.00 when compared to monthly payments.

Other Bus Services Available:
  • Afternoon only bus service on Early Dismissal Wednesdays. Riding the bus on Wednesday afternoons will be available for $30 per month. Bus departs school Wednesday at 2:35.
  • Drop-In Bus Rate– up to 20 uses in a school year – $180 flat rate.
All parents/guardians of those students riding the bus must complete either (1) the Parental Request for Transportation to/from School form during enrollment or (2) the Bus Service Add/Change Form at the bottom of this page. For insurance purposes, the registration form must be completed for the student to participate in school transportation.

Bus service will commence on the first full day of classes.

Rules for Students utilizing the Bus Service
  • Students must be present at the scheduled pick-up time or they will be left behind. (Bus drivers are instructed to depart on schedule and are not allowed to stop the vehicle anywhere other than the designated stops.)
  • Students should be on the bus for departure from school at least 5 minutes before scheduled departure time.
  • While the bus is in transit, all students must be seated.
  • Any loud noise or disruptive behavior while on the bus will not be tolerated.
  • The BMCHS school buses are an extension of the school day and students should act accordingly.
  • The school dress policy is in effect while traveling on the bus.

Please note the following:

  • Private School buses are not permitted to stop at individual homes or along streets
  • Bishop McLaughlin reserves the right to cancel a bus route if minimum ridership is not met
  • Service is limited to the safety capacity of the bus.

PLEASE NOTE:  All bus fees are due the 1st of every month or at the start of each semester.  Payments after the due date are subject to a $25 late fee.

About our Dining Hall

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School has a state-of-the-art kitchen with a chef who prepares meals for our students on a daily basis. There are multiple selections each day for our students to choose from during the breakfast break and lunch periods.

Our dining hall accepts checks, cash or families can make deposits via FACTS Family Portal.  Students can then draw from the monies deposited using their student ID for access to their accounts.

 

Negative Balance Policy

Students with a negative balance in excess of $-15.00 cannot purchase breakfast items. Lunch items will be restricted to a cheese or PB&J sandwich for $2.00, along with a milk ($.75) or water for ($.50).

FRIENDS OF THE ARTS

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School is committed to grow our Arts Program to include new academic courses of study and programming. This program will uniquely qualify your student to pursue careers in the Arts community.

Our Friends of the Arts organization includes Students, Parents, Alumni, Faculty, BMCHS Administration and Community Members. There is no cost to become a member.

Friends of the Arts will meet regularly to discuss:

  • Support for BMCHS current and future academic curriculum and programming in:
    • Performing Arts – Annual Performances
    • Visual Arts
    • Electronic Media Arts
  • Partnering with Community members who support BMCHS Arts programs
  • Fundraising for Friends of the Arts

Welcome!

The mission of the Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School Parent Volunteer Association is to promote, encourage and support BMCHS’s students, families, and staff. We help new parents get involved and stay connected to the rest of the Bishop Community. Our parent members offer support to administration and staff through service, fundraising assistance, and volunteering whenever help is needed.

We provide volunteers and help staff organize a variety of BMCHS events and activities including; Homecoming events, senior class activities, Honor Society and Junior Ring Ceremony Receptions, We support the Arts Department by coordinating support for plays and art events. We pamper the students during Catholic Schools Week and the Staff during Staff Appreciation Week. Our biggest challenge is coordinating, planning and organizing the Annual Navy & Gold Gala.

Throughout the year there are many opportunities to help. The PVA is here to help you get involved, so we can all make Bishop an environment which will enrich our children’s’ education and enhance the world in which we live and they grow.

All parents, grandparents and guardians are encouraged to join the PVA. Membership is free!

Parent Volunteer Events
Mass & Parents Dinner

Volunteers can assist in preparing for the Pasta dinner. Opportunities will include setting up tables, ironing table cloths and (set-up, serve and clean-up).

Back to School Night

Volunteers are needed to man our PVA table answer any questions for new volunteers to sign-up for future events.

School Retreats

Volunteers can donate any items needed to run the School Retreats. Opportunities will also include setting up and clean up any activities

Admission Information Session/Open House

Volunteers are needed to assist manning the tables presented to showcase New Admissions, Bishop Parents with 1 year or more experience will be asked to accompany Student Ambassadors to float and tour the school,  in answering questions for new incoming parents. Volunteers are needed to help with greeting, ushering, and distributing information to potential future members of the BMCHS community

Junior Class Ring Ceremony

Volunteers are needed to organize reception, including decorations and refreshments (set-up, serve, and clean-up).

Homecoming Activities

Volunteers are needed to assist with planning, setting up, supervising, and cleaning up during Homecoming Activities (Rally and Dance). Note: Background screening and Safe Environment Training is required when supervising students.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Volunteers are needed to organize and coordinate events to show appreciation for the faculty and the staff during this week (suggestions are provided).

Annual Fundraiser

Volunteers are needed to help organize, solicit merchandise and/or sponsorships, sell tickets, decorate, and help with the catalog either prior to and/or the day and evening of the event. Note: The Auction is one of the school’s major fundraisers including smaller fundraising events such as Casino Night, Friends of the Family Social Events.

Prom Set-up

Volunteers are needed to assist in setting up the Prom.

National Honor Society Reception

Volunteers are needed to plan a reception (refreshments, decorations, set-up, and clean-up) for this event.

Senior Luncheon

Volunteers are needed to help (organize, set-up, serve, and clean-up) with the luncheon for the senior class. Need freshman, sophomore, and junior parents to sign-up. Suggestions will be provided.

Friends of the Arts

Volunteers are needed to help organize the costume and prop closets, gather props and costumes for performances, assist with art work displays, help with the Christmas and talent shows as needed (box office, concessions, etc.), assist with digital media needs and help organize fundraising activities (dress down days, selling donuts, etc.)

Awards Reception/Graduation

Volunteers needed to assist with setting up reception and refreshments.

Uniform Closet and Spirit Attire Sales

Volunteers are needed to help sell used uniform (2x a year) and spirit wear at home games during sporting events.

Office/Clerical (as needed)

Volunteers are needed to help with clerical activities on an as-needed basis.

General Miscellaneous

Volunteers are needed to help out with projects and/or events that come up during the school year.
